Scrutiny Mutiny

This dynamic show brought together five installation artists from the Mid-Atlantic region and a juried collaboration of 48 artists selected from open submissions, transforming The Hook into an immersive exploration of creative rebellion.

The juried collaboration featured 48 artists, each contributing one to six 10x10-inch works to form a monumental wall installation - a work composed of many small parts and diverse perspectives that, together, create a powerful shared vision.

Through painting, sculpture, video, and interactive environments, A Scrutiny Mutiny explores how artists examine the world around them - whether microscopic, emotional, or social - and how observation itself can become an act of power. The exhibition invites viewers to consider how close attention can serve as a form of creative resistance and renewal.

The event is registered with the Fall of Freedom, aligning with a broader network of exhibitions celebrating freedom of expression and artistic courage.
